What We Believe:
We at The Progressive Baptist Church believe that the Bible is God’s Holy Word. It is inerrant in its original autographs and is the standard by which all should live. We believe in the One triune God. Three persons of the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), but one being. Equal in essence nature and authority. We believe you are saved by grace alone (Eph. 2:8). This is achieved by the process known as being born again, through the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and the repentance of the believer.
What We Are:
We are a community of baptized believers. A spiritual brotherhood united in goals, aims and sentiments. We are bound together by the very Spirit of Christ, who has redeemed us by His blood. As the Apostle Paul states, we are many members of one body. Our church is autonomous in its nature and theocratic in its government. We are a priesthood of believers living to glorify God our creator and redeemer.
Membership:
According to scripture every believer should be a part of a local assembly. As with those of like faith to be a part of the Progressive family you must first be a part of God’s family. The true church is those who have been born again. There are three modes of uniting with this fellowship. For new converts after confession of faith you may unite as a candidate for baptism (an outward expression of your union with Christ). For those who are relocating from congregation to another you may unite by letter or expression of your Christian experience.
